I had heard a lot about EthelM Chocolates and couldn’t wait to check out the factory store.
We arrived at about 4:30 and decided to walk through the cactus garden first. So much effort has been taken to maintain the garden and the plants. There are descriptions of many of the plants and lots of identifying markers. Benches are placed throughout the paved path, many of which are even in the shade. From one corner of the garden you could even see the solar farm.
After a nice walk it was time to indulge. They were only making Dove chocolates the day we went but the self guided tour gave a sufficient explanation of the process. At the end of the tour we were given an option of white, milk or dark chocolate sample pieces. Steve and Stephanie chose milk chocolate, Aaron had a hard time deciding between white and dark but ultimately settled on white chocolate and I chose the dark chocolate. Everyone agreed their sample was delicious!
There is a nice shop at the end of the tour with so many amazing choices. It’s a little pricey but we splurged on the candy bars.
I would recommend going. In fact, we are going to try to go back during the week to see if there is chocolate being made in the factory. Besides, I’ll get another sample of their fabulous candy!
